McCord Ranch is located three and a half miles south and west of Fairbury, Nebraska or 65 miles southwest of Lincoln, Nebraska. From Fairbury, drive south two and a half miles on Highway 15 to County Road 708. Turn and go east one mile to the northeast corner of the ranch. Continue another half mile to 567th avenue and turn south. The ranch will border 567th avenue for nearly three miles.

Locale

Fairbury is the county seat of Jefferson County. Fairbury’s population is approximately 3,755 people and supports most major amenities. including grocery stores, lodging, restaurants, parks, golf course, speedway, aquatic center, and schools to name a few. The airport has a 3,700 foot runway. The area is most notably known for Rock Creek Station, which is a former Oregon Trail and Pony Express stop. To this day, ruts from the covered wagons are still visible. Jefferson County is a transitional area from the fertile farmland to the tallgrass prairie of the south.
