A mammoth Colorado ranch that’s only 17 miles from the ski slopes of Steamboat Springs has come on the market after being owned by the same family for nearly 35 years. The asking price for the nearly 11,000-acre property is $65 million.
“It’s a magical place,” said ranch managing director Jocelyn Hornblower, whose father bought the ranch in 1991. “It represents the true beauty of nature. When you’re there, you feel like you’re a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, yet you can be in Steamboat Springs in 30 minutes.”
Hornblower’s family bought the ranch, which was created in 1862 under President Abraham Lincoln’s Homestead Act, when she was 11. Through the years, they significantly expanded its acreage and added the buildings.
