A Few Key Property Elements

Hunting and Wildlife

The eastern United States is home to some of the country’s most historic hunting and wildlife locations, from the East Shore of Maryland to the ACE Basin of South Carolina to the South Georgia quail belt and beyond.

Equestrian Facilities

Is thoroughbred breeding or racing a passion you want to explore, or does polo light you up? Perhaps your family is more interested in simply exploring the land on horseback and discovering a property’s secrets on their own time. We’ll help figure that out! And if the answer is all three —we’ll figure that out too!

Recreation

With an endless array of activities, recreation is typically dependent on the property and nearby attractions. Whether it’s a legacy you want to build or a turnkey weekend retreat, we’ll all work to support that journey of discovery.

Agriculture

Agriculture traditions in the East run deep and are as varied as our diverse landscapes. Perhaps you have an interest in cultivating field crops, growing produce for local restaurants, or joining the burgeoning viticulture industry. Or maybe that interest runs towards habitat and farming for wildlife? Regardless of the pursuit, we have the experts to walk and work beside you and help facilitate your interest in the land.

Anyone who has traveled to the Lowcountry, Red Hills, Virginia Hunt Country, Blue Ridge Mountains – the list goes on and on – knows it is a region brimming with history and culture. And like peeling back an onion, each layer reveals new areas and local secrets, which come to life through cuisine, music, art, and cultural activities. Whether it’s a Lowcountry oyster roast, quail hunting in South Georgia, Appalachian bluegrass, or chasing stripers and ducks on the Chesapeake Bay, each pursuit is rooted to that location, providing distinct experiences with a unique sense of place.

All of this starts with the land, which is as diverse as the people who inhabit it. The Appalachian Mountains hold the bragging rights for the oldest range in North America, and this storied range once claimed towering heights rivaling its western counterparts. Stunningly scenic in any season, the mountains contrast the warmer and more humid climates of the Piedmont and Coastal Plain. Further east, the Atlantic coastline is home to some of the largest and most biologically diverse wetland complexes in the United States, not to mention some of its most storied hunting and fishing. These lower elevations also have strong agrarian and equestrian traditions, including some of the nation’s most storied thoroughbred stables, foxhunting, and three-day events. On the agriculture front, Eastern wineries and vineyards have begun to take the stage alongside more established regions, and long before farm-to-table became a catchphrase, here, it was simply called eating.

We’re privileged to have worked with clients throughout this mosaic, and our experience in the East, like the clients and properties we’ve represented, is wide-ranging and extensive. Today, our work includes riverfront and mountain offerings, a landmark equestrian estate, and, further to the North, a historic Berkshire retreat that once hosted former President Grover Cleveland. Wherever your search may take you and whatever your criteria, we are standing by to help you get there.
