Off-Grid Base Camp to the Remote Idaho Wilderness Hits the Market for $6.75 Million

The 21-acre Mackay Bar Ranch had a starring role in the Discovery Channel’s “River of No Return” reality TV series

Surrounded by 3.5 million acres of federal forests and wilderness preserves, Mackay Bar Ranch is in the city of Riggins on the main stem of the Salmon River about 150 miles north of the capital of Boise.

“The ranch is unique because it’s one of only about a dozen small private properties along this point of the river,” said Trent Jones of Hall and Hall’s Sun Valley, Idaho, office, who listed it last week. “These ranches serve as a base for enjoying the most remote parts of the Lower 48 states, and many never come up for sale because they are owned by generations.”
