Spring hits Montana!
One of the telltale indicators of Spring is the return of the Sandhill Cranes.
This one is part of a breeding pair that returns to the Baden Ranch in southwestern Montana’s Gallatin Valley, near Bozeman. They return every year and build/re-build their nest on this island in one of several spring-fed trout ponds. They will hatch one or two colts (babies) each year.
