Metzger Ranch
Cherry County, NEThe ranch is comprised of 55,136± total acres, of which 51,856± are deeded. The ranch is a 2,500-cow self-sustaining and well-balanced year-round ranch operation with over 17 miles of live water.
Pettit Ranch consists of 4,960± total acres, of which 4,320± are deeded, and is in the heart of the Sandhills of McPherson County, Nebraska. The ranch is just a short four miles north of Highway 92 on a paved county road. The ranch is highlighted with a large number of sub-irrigated meadow acres, which allows the ranch to run up to 500 cows on a year-round basis. The sub-irrigated meadows can be utilized for haying or grazing to provide multiple operational considerations. Water is in abundance due to the Ogallala Aquifer, which is the source of year-round creeks and ponds on the ranch, along with 23 solar wells with stock tanks. Wildlife is abundant and includes deer, turkeys, grouse, and waterfowl. The Pettit Ranch is a solid Sandhill Ranch that has been in the family since 1904 and is very impressive with the carrying capacity due to the sub-irrigated meadows.
