Diamond Springs Ranch is a sizeable property in the Great Basin’s high desert. Sitting on the flank of the timbered Sulphur Spring Mountain Range, overlooking the Diamond Valley, views sweep up to the 9,000-foot peaks of the Diamond Springs Mountains. The views stretch across dry lake beds, timbered hills, irrigated fields, springs, and ponds. There is a full-size cattle operation, extensive recreation, and a colorful town. Its 36,000± total acres include 994± deeded acres and the adjoining privately leased BLM. The 341± irrigated acres are under three circle/pivot sprinkler systems. The historic yet very much alive town of Eureka with its 7,300-foot airport runway is located 40 miles/45 minutes away. The 20,000-person city of Elko is 100 miles/1 hour and 45 minutes away and offers one commercial flight per day to Salt Lake City on Delta Airlines Connection.
The ranch runs a combination of 250 cows year-round plus 350 yearlings for the season. Recreation is diverse and extensive, from miles of riding to fishing and hunting, plus historical and ethnic events in town. Fishing is easy in three ponds with large quantities of largemouth bass, bluegill, and catfish. Ducks and geese abound. There are good numbers of antelope, mule deer, and mountain lions. There are plenty of buildings for living, housing others, and operations in the three mobile homes of various sizes, corrals, hay barn, shop, machine shed, and Quonset.
