Born and raised on a sizable registered Black Angus ranch, Peter understands all phases of a working operation. He attended Montana State University, earning a degree in Business Management with minors in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. After college, he built and sold several businesses before partnering on a local fly shop and guide service that eventually grew into the international destination fly fishing company known today as Angling Destinations.
His years with Angling Destinations took him across multiple continents in the name of “research”, scouting waters and adventures for clients, and shaped a lasting appreciation for the world’s great sporting traditions. On the water, he is happiest stalking bonefish on a saltwater flat, with the occasional shot at a permit. When the rod gets traded for a 28-gauge, he favors upland country behind a pointing dog, usually George, though his most memorable days afield have been driven Red-legged Partridge shoots in Spain alongside a close friend.
Peter’s agricultural background and firsthand knowledge of sporting properties led naturally to helping clients and friends locate and invest in legacy properties throughout the Intermountain West. A long familiarity with East Coast sporting and cultural traditions often makes for easy conversation with clients on either side of the country.
He currently serves as Board Chair of the Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation in Philadelphia, traveling east several times a year for the work and for the culture he has come to enjoy there. Still, his deepest sense of place remains the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and Montana.
Peter lives in the Sheridan area with his best friend and wife of fifteen years, Maggie, and their three boys. The household is rounded out by three dogs — Scout, a chocolate Lab; Bruno, a Schnauzer; and George, a Brittany and Peter’s steady companion in the uplands — along with a rotating cast of reptiles and insects courtesy of the boys.
