Location

Miner Creek Ranch is located within a 25-minute drive north of Bozeman, and 15 minutes to Bozeman’s Gallatin Field airport at Belgrade which has recently been recognized as Montana’s busiest commercial airport. This has given Bozeman area residents and visitors non-stop access to many of the major airports in the U.S. including New York, Chicago and Atlanta, as well as Seattle and other West Coast airports. Additionally, the ranch is located just 15 minutes from Livingston and one hour from Yellowstone National Park.

Locale

The Bozeman area has built a reputation as one of the most desirable communities to live in the U.S. It offers a vibrant and historic downtown area, an active business community with multiple high-tech businesses, Montana State University, and a large agricultural community. In addition, the town boasts a strong social and cultural scene which is enhanced by a population that has moved there to enjoy its beautiful, expansive, mountain valley setting that offers virtually every recreational amenity one could ask for in an inland location. Bozeman attracts outdoor enthusiasts and visitors such as skiers (both alpine and Nordic), hikers, climbers, explorers, big game hunters, bird hunters, anglers, floaters, kayakers, and Yellowstone National Park visitors, creating a truly diverse population. It has all the benefits of a resort community but very few of its detriments. Its diverse elements assure this.

Livingston, 15 minutes east of the ranch, offers a full complement of services including galleries, restaurants, specialty shops, book stores and of course world-renowned fly fishing shops such as Dan Bailey’s, George Anderson’s Yellowstone Angler and Sweetwater. Over the years Livingston and the valley have attracted artists, actors, and wealthy individuals and their families from the worlds of business and finance. This has given the area a more sophisticated ambiance which combines nicely with the many strong Montana ranching families that live a more traditional, agriculturally based life in the valley.

Recreational Amenities

Fishery Resources

Miner Creek Ranch is situated within a short drive of the Yellowstone River and multiple world-renowned spring creeks, giving it an enviable location for an avid fisherman. The legendary waters of Yellowstone Park are just 60 minutes to the south. The nearby forest service and wilderness offer a multitude of mountain lake fishing adventures.

Wildlife Resources

Miner Creek Ranch offers some of the best elk hunting in the area giving way to exceptional trophy bulls residing on the ranch during the archery season. The ranch contains all the things that elk need and love: food, cover, safety and water. The hunting pressure from outfitters in the area cause the elk to seek refuge on the property. Thus, with strategic hunting plans and designated sanctuaries, the elk are almost always on the ranch during hunting season.

In addition to elk, the property has good populations of other ungulates including moose, mule and whitetail deer. There are black bears, ruff and blue grouse, as well as Hungarian partridge. Opportunities for hunting are exceptional and it is hard to find such a populated wildlife corridor so close to the communities of Bozeman and Livingston.

Recreational Considerations

Not only does the area offer exceptional nearby skiing at Bridger Bowl, but there is always an abundance of outdoor entertainment nearby. Horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, backpacking, biking, wildlife viewing, camping, etc. all can be enjoyed on the ranch or within the nearby wilderness and national forest.

General Operations

General Operations

Miner Creek Ranch is retreat-type ranch that has been historically used for grazing of horses. The ranch would make an excellent summer grazing operation and would be highly desirable ground for lease by many of the ranchers in the area.
