Marland, the Pennsylvania oilman, came to this area and founded the Marland Oil Company, which at one time controlled ten percent of the world’s oil supply. This oil company eventually merged into what is now called ConocoPhillips. The nearby 101 Ranch Company had a division called the Bar L Ranch, which is now part of this Red Rock Ranch. The 101 Ranch Company fostered the famed 101 Ranch Wild West Show.

Hunting - Waterfowl
Waterfowl habitat at Red Rock is exceptional, being surrounded on three sides by the Arkansas River, along with hundreds of acres of cultivated farm ground along the river. The ranch also features a natural slough that floods seasonally. Additionally, being located seven miles south of the nationally recognized 17,000-acre Kaw Lake and seven miles northeast of the 5,400-acre Sooner Lake, the ranch naturally attracts birds moving to and from the lakes and the river to feed.
Hunting - Wing Shooting
The ranch has traditionally offered bobwhite quail, pheasant, and chukar hunting during its upland season. Hunters have a wide choice of cover to hunt, including feed strips, field borders, open fields, and oak woods and draws. Turkey hunts have also been offered.
In addition to amazing hunting, the ranch has complementary farming and cattle operations. There are currently over 400 acres of farm ground, which is planted in wheat and corn. Historical yields for wheat have been as high as 50+ bushels per acre, with corn averaging over 100 bushels per acre. Hay production is also impressive, with over 2,000 round bales produced in 2025. In addition, the ranch currently runs approximately 50 head of Angus cows and 25 longhorns. The opportunity exists to expand all these operations.
